Guitar strap slippage & Grolsch Beer

I was just looking at the inner sleeve of an Albert King CD and noticed I had the same identical Guitar strap, soft leather and very comfortable but prone to slippage, I also noticed that he also had to use rubber washers to stop this from happening.

Tip  Many years ago whilst reading a Guitar Mag someone suggested using the rubber seals off of the Grolsch beer bottles, which I did and have to say it worked a treat. With the plus side being you get to drink the contents beer  (or ask Dad, for the under-aged  )

This may be old hat to a lot of you, or there may be something else out there already, but I thought it a useful tip for new players.

In Europe, we take a "Flens" for it:

Too bad I always sit while playing, so I can't justify drinking it for that reason. gruebel

You could glue them to the bottom of your stool legs , you wouldn't want any nasty accidents whilst playing on smooth surfaces. Make it a four legged stool just for extra safety thumbsupbeer

Re: Guitar strap slippage & Grolsch Beer

The pictures of the Flensburger beers bring back a LOT of memories.  I had the good fortune to live in Flensburg from 1982-1985.  You might say I did a lot of taste testing.  big_smile   It does look like the line has expanded some....I don't remember some of them (or maybe I never got past the pils.  big_smile

I heard the words as I closed my eyes down on my, down on my bended knees.  It fit like a glove and I realized somethin' good's happenin' to me.

Re: Guitar strap slippage & Grolsch Beer

We read the same Aussie guitar magazine, SOG!  :-)   I've been using those Grolsch seals since reading the tip too.

I use these Aussie made straps which are wide and comfortable:
